This month has been filled with vocabulary, crafts, and physical activities. We love circle time and absorb the information like sponges! Many of us are already able to name one of the days of the week and in what order it falls! We have done many different crafts using different utensils to help develop our fine motor skills. Painting with pom-pom balls on clothes pins is our new favorite way to paint! We have also done many different forms of exercise to help get out our daily wiggles. We love doing our yoga and seeing the different forms we can come up with! The “butterfly” and “scared cat” are the moves we like doing the most! Some of us have even been caught doing it at home! Our month was filled with Sesame street activities such as feeding Cookie Monster, Oscar trash toss, Count scavenger hunt, and four corners!
The cold weather has come full force! This is a great opportunity to teach our Hummingbirds how to wipe their own noses. They love their independence and this is just one more way to allow them to have that. Allowing them to get their own tissues and guiding them through wiping their nose, not only allows the independence to do that but also helps work their fine motor skills. Of course we will all need to do a “check” to make sure the job was done, but allowing them to do it on their own first provides them with the chance to learn how to eventually do it without assistance!
Also, please make sure coats, hats, and gloves are brought in every day and labeled. We try to get out as much as possible and work on getting these items on ourselves. Labeling our items gives our Hummingbirds the opportunity to put on and take off their own articles of clothing without having to worry about them getting mixed up.
Thank you for your continued support,
Ms. Sydnie, Ms. Faith, and Ms. Christy
