November is always so much fun in the Eagles. We have learned so many fun things all month long!
After unwinding from Halloween, we began this month learning about Aviation and Transportation. We soared through the skies and learned about some of the most famous aviators of all time, including Amelia Earhart, the Wright brothers, and John Glenn. We loved hearing their tales of soaring to new heights!
It was also Cookie Monsters birthday this month. We celebrated by having a yummy cookie snack, which we decorated to look just like Cookie! We played a cookie hunt game and listened to Sesame Street songs, especially “C is for Cookie”! This month also brought us a Sesame Street Adventure, where we traveled to other classes to play games, listen to stories, and just have fun!
Our next theme is Farm and Harvest. We are very excited to learn more about healthy and unhealthy foods! With Halloween just behind us and Thanksgiving creeping up on us, what better way to practice making healthy food choices? Plus we all want to learn more about where all the yummy Thanksgiving food we eat comes from!
We have focused on the letters H-K this month. We’ve learned silly songs, read stories focusing on the letters, made beginning letter word lists, and creating fun letter artwork for each letter! We have started utilizing the computers and the listening center more throughout this month, as we continue to build up our auditory processing skills. The Eagles are really enjoying using the headphones to listen to stories being read while they follow along with their own book. The computers offer a variety of games focusing on science, math, and literacy. The activities involved help teach basic computer skills while having fun!
