Wow, it is hard to believe but it is late October, leaves are falling and Halloween is right around the corner.
Summer was a busy, busy time at Laurel Tree! It flew by and we had so much fun.
We are in full back to school mode. Our Back to School Night was great, we had wonderful parent turn out. We hope you gathered valuable information and are as excited about this school year and we are.
We are fully up and running with our brightwheel Parent Communication app. We now send out activities, information and pictures for all children on a live time line every day. This is a great way to stay informed about your child’s day as well as upcoming school events. We love it! We hope you do too!
October is a busy month around Laurel Tree. We have many fall and Halloween events happening. Our themes this month are Fire Safety, Fall, Pumpkins and Halloween.
The Mount Laurel Fire Department visited the center on October 7th. The firemen did an awesome presentation for the children, showing them their fire safety gear and masks, teaching them about “stop, drop and roll” and helping them understand that fireman are their friends. They also brought along their fire truck for the kids to explore. So Cool!
Our Preschool classes traveled to Springdale Farms for pumpkin picking last week. They came back with beautiful pumpkins and some knowledge about pumpkins and how they grow. They also had full bellies from the delicious snack of cider donuts and apple cider, yum yum!
Granee Smith visited us on October 19th for Halloween story time. We love her. She read some great stories, did a little magic and then gave the children paint “tattoos” of their choosing. What fun!
Our Sparrows and Hummingbirds will “pick” pumpkins on October 27 on our playground. This is a fun treat for them, they love running around and searching for the best pumpkin.
October 28th is Frankenstein Friday. We will have a monstrous dance party. Please feel free to send your child in a freaky outfit. We will dance and party the morning away.
Our Annual Halloween Parade and Trunk or Treat is Monday, October 31st. The school wide parade begins at 10AM followed by Trunk or Treat, hosted by our generous parents, and then class lunch parties. Come out and join us, it is so much fun to watch the children parade in their costumes and they are so excited to see you all at school.
We hope you have a great Halloween!
