Preschool
Our preschool staff strives to make each child's first school experience a
positive one and encourage positive feelings about self, family, school
and their environment. Creativity, diversity and critical thinking are
fostered through encouragement and positive reinforcement. Our
curriculum includes an introduction to the concepts and skills that are
necessary for successful reading, writing and speaking. We use a
hands-on approach to math, allowing the children to explore concepts
such as addition, subtraction, pattern recognition, weights and
measurements. Cause and effect relationships are reinforced through
simple science experiments and creativity is expressed through our art,
music and gym programs.
Each month our school participates in seasonal themes and related
activities. Monthly field trips reinforce the subjects discussed in
school and we also encourage our children and families to participate
in our various charitable drives such as: Stone Soup Food Drive,
Giving Tree, PAWS for the Cause, Relay for Life, etc...
All of our teachers are properly degreed and/or certified and must complete
20 hours of continued education/training annually in the following
areas:
- Child Growth & Development
- Positive Guidance & Discipline
- Child Health & Safety
- Academic Electives
